Carien du Preez (vd Linden)
Carien holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Pretoria Technical College and has over 10 years experience in teaching art. Carien started as a keen acrylic painter but has subsequently switched to oil as her main medium. She enjoys creating mostly black and white paintings that tend to visit the slightly darker corners of life, highlighting the beauty in things often perceived to be less aesthetically pleasing. Carien also enjoys painting large-format, close-up portraits and does so with remarkable detail. She has been commended on numerous occasions for her patience and ability to adapt her teaching style to her students’ needs.
